"Fighting Gamecocks" in the news

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. -- Twin brothers and former Davidson High and University of South Carolina football players Dustin and Jordin Lindsey surrendered to authorities after being involved in a bar fight on Dauphin Island earlier this month, police said today. The brothers along with their father, Billy Gene Lindsey, got into a brawl at the Oarhouse Bar & Grill on Sept. 4, police said today.

Dauphin Island Police Chief George Goodwin said a fight turned into a "free for all," and four other people were injured, including bruised eyes and abrasions.

This afternoon, Billy Lindsey referred questions to his attorney, John White, who, through an assistant, declined to comment.

Police said the 3 men turned themselves in at Mobile County Metro Jail on Wednesday.

Police did not release any other details about the incident, including what started the fight.

Dustin Lindsey, 23, was charged with four counts of third-degree assault and one count of disorderly conduct, according to records. He was released from jail Wednesday on $4,500 in bail.

Jordin Lindsey, 23, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault and one count of disorderly conduct. He was released from jail on $2,500 in bail.

Billy Lindsey, 49, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released from jail on $1,500 in bail.
