Thursday Football Report

It's been a fairly quiet week in Columbia. The weather has cooperated for the most part and the Gamecocks are prepared and very optimistic about Saturdays matchup with Kentucky.

Carolina will have a few new faces on the O-line, and look for a new offset package to be used on third downs. You wouldn't necessarily call it the wild-cat or anything, just a wrinkle here or there.

The Injury Report is pretty good. TE Wesley Saunders will sit this week out to rest his injured ankle, while Akeem Auguste serves his 2nd of a 3 game suspension. Garrett Anderson is listed as probable, depending on the medical reports on Friday.

Look for the OBC to be mindful of Kentucky and the workings of Head Coach Rich Brooks, who has shown flashes of brilliance in losses to Florida and Alabama. The Gamecocks have proven to be slow startes, so look for down-the-field strikes early and often to work on giving the Gamecocks room to substitute and get some much needed shore up time for rookies and younger linemen.

99 miles predicts:

Carolina 31 Kentucky 13
